Handsome Boys!

I have a yellow Labrador named Harley (after the bike) and he is 11yrs old. Before I got Harley I was scared of dogs as I had a bad experience as a child, thanks to Harley I adore dogs and even became a dog groomer.

Harley is so steady and reliable, he walks lovely by my side although at times he still thinks he's a puppy. His back leg sometimes plays him up so he has to be careful in his old age, but he doesn't know this and to be honest he doesn't care. He's an amazing swimmer and dives with his whole body under water to fetch stones, or should that be giant rocks from the floor.

Last Christmas he had a tumour in his spleen which weighed 5kg, the biggest the vet had seen. Thankfully Harley recovered and is back on form, but for a while it was touch and go. I couldn't imagine loosing him as he is our boy, I couldn't believe how much I cried when he went to the vets, I thanked Harley so much for pulling through that day, and all I wanted for Christmas that year was Harley.

My other dog Bailey (named after the drink) as he was the same colour and I liked the name, is a 3yr old Cocker Spaniel from Spain, as we lived there for a while. This boy was the cutest puppy in the world, he still is so handsome and photogenic that I'm always snapping away.

Bailey is a proper mummy's boy and follows me everywhere, which is my own fault as I was quite slack on the training with him. Hence why Harley is so good because we spent the time training him, but does Bailey follow in his foot steps - oh no, very independent and strong willed!

I love the fact I can play rough with Bailey, go to agility with him which he enjoys and is quite good. Then at the end of the day enjoy cuddles together on the settee.

I adore my boys and life is so much better for having them in it.
